The name comes from local farmers who, the story goes, gave it an unflattering name to deter competitors and thieves from identifying which trees produced the best tea. The irony is that 鸭屎香 produces a tea of striking complexity: strong stone fruit character, mineral depth, a light floral quality, and a remarkably clean, lingering finish.
