Oriental Beauty Dark is built around one of the world's most fascinating teas — a Taiwanese oolong whose distinctive flavour comes not from the farmer's technique, but from an insect.
Oriental Beauty (東方美人) is a heavily oxidised non-roasted oolong made famous by a biological quirk: the tea leaves are bitten by small leafhoppers, triggering a chemical defence response in the plant that produces the tea's characteristic perfumy, honey-like aroma. It cannot be artificially replicated. The complexity — layers of honey, stone fruit, flowers, and woodiness — is entirely natural.
Fossa pairs this tea with floral, malty Ecuadorian cacao from the Hacienda Limon estate, creating a 62% dark chocolate that is aromatic, nuanced, and completely dairy-free. The cacao's natural fruitiness mirrors and amplifies the tea's character without overpowering it.
