Fossa Chocolate
Pulut Hitam
Pulut Hitam is one of Fossa Chocolate's most deeply Southeast Asian bars — a chocolate translation of the black glutinous rice porridge that has been a beloved dessert across Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia for generations.
Pulut Hitam (black sticky rice porridge) is a comforting, nutritious dish traditionally sweetened with palm sugar and served warm. Its distinctive purple-black colour, ricey aroma, and thick, creamy texture make it immediately recognisable across the region. Fossa uses a generous quantity of black glutinous rice in this bar to capture that characteristic aroma and mouthfeel, and pairs it with floral, malty cacao from the Hacienda Limon estate in Ecuador — an origin known for its natural sweetness and elegant Nacional varietal character.
Sweetened with coconut palm sugar rather than cane sugar, this bar is entirely dairy-free and vegan — and one of the most culturally specific offerings in the Fossa range.
